The Rabbits

The Rabbits @ CBGC was started some 30 years ago by a small group of members who met at lunch time when Wednesday used to be 'early closing' in Crowborough.

Still held every Wednesday, our start times can vary by time of year and in the light of other commitments on the course. Check the monthly sheets or website but generally we have the first tee from 10.30 for a period of two hours. All members are welcome. That includes ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls. Do not worry if you do not have a handicap. You soon will have, especially if you start winning the prize money. Also the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of each month are qualifiers so the Rabbit is useful for those wishing to gain a handicap.

Entry fee is £2.00. Prizes for the winning Rabbits in each Division are £5.00 first; £4.00 second; £3.00 third. £2.00 for the best front nine and £2.00 back nine. A new ball for a birdie on the par 3's and a box of balls for an eagle. Albatross's and holes in one are rare but costly.

The Rabbit is a good opportunity to meet members - most of whom are friendly. Past captains can get a little above themselves but it is always more fun when they are the Rabbit.

In March and October we hold a Rabbit Supper. This is a team event with a meal afterwards of Beacon Bunny prepared by old Brighteyes in the kitchen, followed by a prize giving.
