This Indenture made the twenty ninth day of January – One thousand nine hundred and six between the Right Honourable Gilbert George Reginald Earl De La Warr of the first part Edward Duncombe Henry Buckley of New Hall Salisbury in the County of Wilts a Major in His Majesty’s Royal Artillery The Right Honourable Muriel Agnes Countess De La Warr and William Webb Spencer Follett of Number 11 New Square Lincolns Inn in the County of London Barrister at law of the second part and The Company called The Crowborough Beacon Golf Club Limited whose registered office is at Crowborough in the County of Sussex of the third part Witnesseth that in consideration of the sum of Seven hundred and fifty pounds to the said Edward Duncombe Henry Buckley Lady De La Warr and William Webb Spencer Follett (as the Trustees within the meaning of the Settled Land Acts 1882 to 1890 of the compound Settlement created by an Indenture of Settlement bearing date the fifteenth day of March One thousand eight hundred and fifty four a Disentailing Assurance bearing date the first day of January One thousand eight hundred and eighty nine and an Indenture of Re Settlement bearing date the second day of January One thousand eight hundred and eighty nine to the uses of which Compound Settlement the hereditaments hereinafter mentioned now stand limited) at the request and by the direction of the said Earl De La Warr (as the Tenant for life within the meaning of the said Acts Under the said Compound Settlement) now paid by the said Company (the receipt whereof the said Edward Duncombe Henry Buckley Lady De La Warr and William Webb Spencer Follett hereby acknowledge) He the said Gilbert George Reginald Earl De La Warr as such Tenant for life as aforesaid in exercise of the power for this purpose vested in him by the said Acts and of all other powers enabling him in this behalf as Beneficial Owner doth hereby convey unto the said Company All that the Manor of Alchornes with all the Rights Members Jurisdictions and appurtenances thereof whatsoever in the said County Of Sussex and all Courts Baron and other Courts Commons Woods Underwoods Rents Reversions Services. Profits and Perquisites of Court Royalties Liberties Franchises Profits Annual and Casual Appendages and Incidents whatsoever to be or to the said Manor and premises belonging or intended to belong or therewith as part parcel or member thereof or in respect of the said Manor and premises every or any part of them had taken used and enjoyed (except any enclosed lands now or heretofore reputed to be or to be part of the Demesne lands of the said Manor) And by way of Conveyance and Assurance and not of exception particularly all the Wastelands of the said Manor which wastelands are believed to be shown on the plan drawn on these presents and therein coloured pink and also the pieces of land held by Manser and Manser as Tenants at will and the situation of which is shown on the said plan and therein indicated by a green colour To Hold the same unto and to the use of the said Company in fee simple for the use benefit and purposes of the said Company subject nevertheless as regards such parts of the same premises as are comprised therein to but with the benefit of an Indenture of Lease dated the twenty ninth day of May One thousand eight hundred and ninety six and made between the said Earl De La Warr of the one part and the said Company of the other part as modified by an Indenture dated the eighth day of November One thousand eight hundred and ninety seven and made between the same parties The Witness Whereof the said parties to these presents have hereunto set their hands and seals the day and year first above written.
