Welcome From the Ladies' Captain

Welcome to the Ladies Section of CBGC’s website.  It is my honour and privilege to be Lady Captain for 2012, a task I take on with great enthusiasm, some trepidation but total commitment.

I have been a playing member since 1999 having joined the Academy in 1998 gaining sufficient knowledge and skill to play my way around Crowborough Beacon’s challenging course.

I never thought I’d ever play golf, content with playing badminton and taking part in various keep fit classes, I’d never had any desire to play but having been a golf widow for 25 years decided to take the attitude “if you can’t beat them, join them”.  I can honestly say I have no regrets - golf has literally changed my life … for the better! 

Crowborough Beacon has so much to offer, a challenging but beautiful course, a traditional clubhouse offering superb food and wonderful views right down to the south coast. We have a vibrant mixed section and offer competitive golf as well as fun/social golf.

We offer various memberships to try to accommodate everyone’s needs; Full for those who wish to play regularly, Flexible for those who can only commit to occasional golf and County membership for those living further than 15 miles away from the Club. I firmly believe we are a very friendly and welcoming club offering the golfer a challenging four hour walk with stunning views!

If you are considering taking up golf then come along to the Academy. If you are considering taking up membership somewhere then please do seriously consider Crowborough, I’m sure you will not be disappointed. I look forward to welcoming you.
